Fairly simple, yet it is claimed they are water tight, for 5 years.
The often seen shiny underside finish comes from varnish.

Tailgate repair

2005 Toyota Tundra Tailgate repair Smashed tailgate. Crumpled interior surface difficult to slide objects over, difficult to work on. The goal is to flatten the interior side of the tailgate to be a flat work surface again. Beautification can wait till I return to a civilized life style. Back story: backed into a tree, while seeing a clear path in my left and right rear-view mirrors, didn't look at the middle mirror., This happened at 9,000 feet just below treeline on mt Peale in Utah. I strip the access panels to get to the un-working latches and jury rig rig a pull string to the left latch. Drive back to Oregon. Procrastinating , I see used tailgates online for less than $100. But I am driving to Baja surely I can get one there, maybe they will be cheaper there? Nope, turns out there are no Tundras in Baja at least in the wrecking yards. Work begins: Drill out the spot welds surrounding the damaged area. Looking at the damage from many angles over several months,

Beach Cruise

I would not ordinarily drive along a salt water beach. A splashing experience in Texas corroded everything in the inner driver door, but since here there were not any waves and the inland road was the pits, literally, I gave it a try, in 4WD. Even with 4WD I could see if things got looser I might be walking along ways. Google says let out air down to 15 lbs from the normal highway 35 lbs, before getting stuck.....which means I'll need a air-compressor. Same location, time & camera, different compass heading.

My Horse's name, "No Name". I suppose if you live live enough, you will experience a event that perfectly fits a musical hit. (My apologies to my viewers in certain countries .....well, see below:) Horses are amazing, they are perfectly happy running around without riders, but adapt fairly well to a person jumping on their back. A horse can easily carry 25% of its body weight. That is like me (220lb) carrying 55lbs. I could do it, but I am not sure I that I wouldn't complain. The Google map pictures are very good.
